Weyerhaeuser Contract Talks

It will be a busy time for Weyerhaeuser now that collective bargaining
agreements with Unionized employees at the Dryden Mill have expired.
The Company must negotiate deals with 3 separate Locals of the
Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union as well as the International
Union of Operating Engineers.
Weyerhaeuser will only say that talks have started with one of the CEP
Locals and that the previous contracts expired in September.
Earlier this year, CEP ratified a 5 year deal with Abitibi-Consolidated
that included a wage hike of 11% for workers in Kenora and Fort
Frances.
