Weyerhaeuser Says Too Early To Tell

One of the largest forestry companies in Northwestern Ontario says it is too early to tell what kind of an impact new US duties on Canadian softwood lumber will have on its operations.
Weyerhaeuser says the company will have to take a closer look at the duties totalling 29 percent.
Company spokesperson Jayne Murray says each of its operations will have to be examined individually and see how they fit in the system before any decisions are made.
Murray adds Weyerhaeuser would like to see a negotiated settlement between the two countries rather than duties and a court battle.
