Weyerhaeuser has struck a tentative agreement with the White Dog First Nation over its traditional land use area.
White Dog Chief Ron McDonald says they hope to reach a permanent agreement in October.
McDonald says the new deal will make them an equal partner with the forestry giant.
The contract provides training and job opportunities for aboriginals and under it, Weyerhaeuser needs to ask permission from the First Nation before making use of their land.
