Weyerhaueser is weighing in with it’s opinion of this
morning’s energy rebate announcement.
The company believes the Province has made a good but
small step in making Northern Ontario’s forest industry
more competitive.
Vice President of Ontario Operations, Norm Bush says the
rebates will help lower the cost of electricity at the
Dryden Pulp and Paper Mill.
Bush adds the province is moving in the right direction
when it comes to lowering the electricity rate, but there
not there yet.
Weyerhaueser facilities in Kenora, Ear Falls, and Wawa
are unaffected by the rebate program.
