Federal Health Minister Ginette Petitpas-Taylor says that she’s very confident that the government will be able to meet their goal to legalize marijuana in July.
However, she warns that provinces and territories have said they need 8 to 12 weeks after royal assent to prepare for the actual sale of pot to adults.
The Senate still has concerns surrounding sales to youth as well as branding.
The legislation has yet to gain Senate approval.
