WILLIAM (BILL) CHARLES COOPER

MR. WILLIAM (BILL) CHARLES COOPER, age 88 years, passed away peacefully with his family at his side in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Bill was born in Fort William on June 1, 1922 to Bill and Minnie Cooper. He served overseas with the Royal Canadian Army during the 2nd World War in Italy, Belgium, Holland and North Africa. He later worked various jobs before joining the Port Arthur Transit and later Thunder Bay Transit where he worked for 32 years, retiring in 1986. He is survived by his wife Marj (nee Schneider) of Thunder Bay, sons: Don (Cynthia) of Thunder Bay, Cody (Cathy) of Thunder Bay, and Kent (Christine) of Dryden; daughter Candi (Jack) Wall of Dryden, grandchildren: Alysia & Trevor Cooper, Amanda (Rob Sim), Jayme and Cody Cooper, Thomas and Alexandra Cooper and Peter, Patrick and Jason Wall; brothers-in-law Clayton Schneider (Julie Dzeoba), Bob (Joan) Schneider and Jim (Hanna) Schneider and seven nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Minnie Cooper, brother-in-law Stanton Schneider and father and mother-in-law Tom and Hertha Schneider. A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Susan Ivany of Westminster United Church presiding.
