Winnipeg Man Fined For Building New Cottage

A Winnipeg man faces a hefty fine for building a new cottage on Lake of the Woods.
Court heard Kim Campbell had applied for a permit to build a small addition to his cottage in the Clearwater Bay Restricted Area.
He was given a permit in January of 2012, but instead of a small addition, Campbell unlawfully removed the cabin and built a brand new cottage, which was not authorized under the building permit.
In addition to being fined $6,000 for building in a restricted area without a permit, Campbell was also ordered to remove the second story of the cottage he had constructed.
