A Manitoba man has been fined $5,850 for a series of offences stemming from an October, 2017 hunting trip on Nungesser Lake, north of Red Lake.
Winnipeg’s John Paryniuk has pleaded guilty to a number of charges including hunting moose without a licence, making a false statement in licence applications and unlawfully obtaining various licences.
An investigation found that Paryniuk was no longer a resident of Ontario but still applied for hunting and fishing licences using his old provincial outdoors card and address.
He also entered the resident moose draw using an invalid licence.
Paryniuk has been banned from hunting for two years.
Charges include: hunting moose without a licence, making a false statement in moose licence applications in 2016 and 2017, unlawfully obtaining a deer hunting licence in 2016 when not eligible, making a false statement in an application for a small game licence in 2017 and unlawfully obtaining Ontario resident fishing licences in 2016 and 2017 when not eligible.
