Winter Officially Arrives On Wednesday

While many of us have seen snow already, Wednesday marks the official start of winter.

The winter solstice takes place at 5:47 p.m. Atlantic Time (4:47 p.m. Eastern/3:47 p.m. Central).

It takes place when Earth’s north pole reaches its maximum tilt away from the Sun.

Winter solstice marks the day with the fewest hours of daylight in the Northern Hemisphere.

The good news is we will start to see a bit more daylight each day until the summer solstice on June 21.
