The Moose Population in the Kenora area has
substantially decreased from previous years.
An aerial survey this winter found the population in
Wildlife Management Unit 6 had dropped to 650 animals.
Ministry of Natural Resources Biologist Scott McAughey
says the drop in population is going to have a big effect
on this fall’s moose tags.

McAughey expects this fall they will offer less than
half of the number of tags available last year.
