Woman Injured In Altercation With Police

The Province’s Special Investigations Unit is looking into an incident in Red Lake where a woman was seriously injured during an altercation with Provincial Police.
OPP were dispatched to a home for a second time on Saturday night to deal with a noise complaint.
Officers were refused entry by the woman who told police that she had consumed an unknown quantity of medication.
Concerned for her safety, the officers forced their way in and an altercation between the woman and officers took place.
A firearm was discharged by police and the woman was transported to hospital in Winnipeg in serious condition.
Two officers were also treated for injuries.
