Women’s Walleye Tournament To Go Ahead

A women’s fishing tournament is planning to make a return this summer.

The Lake of the Woods Women’s Walleye Tournament is scheduled for June 19 in Kenora.

Chair Jen Hansen is confident they can run a safe tournament.

“Putting certain policies in place…we should have no issue running a safe tournament,” says Hansen.

“The great thing about our tournament is its catch, record, release, so there’s no big gathering of people, so we don’t have that to worry about.”

Over 30 teams from around the region have already registered plenty of room for more.
