Work Continues On 2014 Dryden Budget

The City of Dryden continues to crunch the numbers and find savings.
Staff are still hoping to present a balanced budget to Council by the end of the month.
Chief Administrative Officer Andre Larabie says work on finding $4-million in savings continues.
Larabie says the first step is to complete a deficit recovery plan and present it to council.
Larabie notes if there are service level reductions they will be brought forward to Council in the next couple of weeks.
He stresses the budget should be approved before the end of the first quarter.
Closed door meetings were held this week on the status of the Dryden Development Corporation, Dryden Fire operations and other staffing issues.
