Plans to expand the local food network continue.
Andrea Habinski is the Community Coordinator of the Dryden-based Cloverbelt Local Food Co-op and she is looking at a regional plan to address the access and cost of locally grown food.
She says the Food Charter will help guide municipal decisions.
Habinski says local communities want to see equal access to healthy, affordable and culturally appropriate food for everyone.
She adds the Charter will also focus on education and supporting youth to grow their own food and make more healthier decisions.
An update will be provided at a public meeting Wednesday night in Atikokan.
