Youth Action Alliance “Drops Dead”

The Dryden Youth Action Alliance took time at Family Safety Night
Wednesday to “play dead” to represent the 44-people who die in Ontario from
tobacco related illness each day.
Members walked around the Arena covered in black, wearing white masks and
dropped to the ground at once.
Sam McKibbon says they wanted to send a message about the dangers of
smoking.
Hope Murdik says she believes their initiatives are starting to pay
off as fewer High School students are smoking.
She adds Alliance numbers are also starting to grow.
