Area youth are getting involved in the smoke-free Ontario campaign.
The Northwestern Health Unit has formed the Youth Action Alliance and
John Skene is handling the program.
Skene says part of the initiative is helping youth butt-out.
He says peer leaders will be working with area youth to give them
the experience and skills needed to help others quit smoking.
Skene adds youth leaders will be working with kids aged 12 to 14 to
catch them before they start smoking and to encourage them to promote
smoke-free living in a positive way.
