The Northwest Tobacco Control Area Network is supporting local projects with a focus on tobacco prevention.
Local high schools and community groups are able to apply for the 2012/2013 Youth Engagement Grant, which is worth up to one thousand dollars.
Coordinator Jennifer McFarlane says it’s a great opportunity for youth to take a stand against smoking.
The deadline to apply is November 16 and you can contact the Northwestern Health Unit Tobacco Prevention Program for an application form.
McFarlane says things done in the past are health fairs, tobacco-free sports tournaments and much more.
