It is with great sadness, the family of Yvonne Morin, announces her passing on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the age of 82. Yvonne passed away at Princess Court Long Term Care, with her family by her side.
Yvonne was born August 3, 1931 in St. Front, Saskatchewan. Yvonne is survived by her four children, Roger (Sharon), Gisele (Rick), Lynda (Wilfred) and Danny (Rose), 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and 3 siblings, sister Juliette, sister Denise and brother Jules as well as many other relatives.
Yvonne was predeceased by her husband Mickey, her mother and father – Marie & Narcisse Dufault, grandson Luke, and her siblings Lucien, Albert, Joe, Rosaire, Louis and Emil.
Mom was well known for her warm heart, always willing to help those in need. In addition, her reputation as an awesome cook was well known in Vermilion Bay and the surrounding area. There was always a hot pot of homemade soup ready at her home for anyone who dropped in.
Yvonne’s favorite past times, included cribbage, bocce ball and curling. Mom and dad also enjoyed wintering in California and travelling in the US.
During the last 4 years, mom resided at Princess Court Long Term Care, where her feisty, “spit fire” personality brought out the best in the staff. Mom proved to be a handful with her quick humour and sharp tongue.
The family would like to give an extra special thank you to the staff at Princess Court for all the extra warmth, support and help they provided mom and the family during this difficult time.
As per Yvonne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Dryden Community Funeral Home, Government Road, Dryden, Ontario. Interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Princess Court Long Term Care Facility through the Dryden Community Funeral Home 249 Grand Trunk Avenue Dryden, ON P8N 2X3.
