A costly vacation for a Minnesota man.
Provincial court heard that a large group had been fishing about 100km northeast of Red Lake.
The group had a campfire but failed to properly extinguish it before leaving.
The winds picked up resulting in a wildfire that forced fire rangers and waterbombers into action.
53-year-old Dale Edward Cox has been fined $750 for failing to extinguish a campfire and he must also pay the Ministry of Natural Resources $10,000 for the cost of putting out the blaze.
