There have been no reported cases of SARS in Northwestern Ontario and the Medical Officer of Health at the Northwestern Health Unit believes restrictions put in place have paid off.
Dr. Pete Sarsfield says they have to continue to be vigilent against the disease as he believes it is likely here to stay.
Sarsfield says the outbreak highlights the need for a well-funded public health system.
