A Nova Scotia judge has sentenced a
48-year-old man who kidnapped, confined and sexually assaulted a teenage boy last fall to 11 years in prison.
David James LeBlanc was arrested in Northern Ontario and pleaded guilty last month to kidnapping a 16-year-old boy and holding him against his will in a cabin for days last September.
During LeBlanc’s sentencing hearing today, the boy’s mother told the Nova Scotia Supreme Court in Bridgewater that her son has been traumatized since the horrific incident.
She read two victim impact statements today, one from her and one on behalf of her son.
She said she feels like LeBlanc robbed her of her son, saying her boy has been scarred both physically and emotionally.
