Sentence Decision For Kenneth Ivall Expected Soon

The family of Ed Wilson will have to wait another two weeks before Kenneth Ivall is formally sentenced.
Ivall was found guilty in February of second degree murder in the death of Ed Wilson.
Wilson was found dead behind the Tower Motel in Kenora in March 2009.
A sentencing hearing was held Friday morning at the Kenora Court House with the crown and Ivall’s defense lawyer taking part.
A second degree murder conviction automatically comes with a sentence of life in prison, with no chance for parole for at least 16-years.
Justice Terrance Plantana will have to decide if he will extend Ivall’s first chance of parole beyond 16-years.
Plantana is expected to hand down his ruling on June 28th.
Crown Attorney Mary-Anne Mousseau says Ivall was a prolific criminal, with a long list of assault, domestic assault and drug trafficking charges against him.
Although he has already been convicted for the murder of Ed Wilson, Ivall has maintained his innocence.
