Despite the rain, the fire hazard is heating up across Northwestern
Ontario, primarily in the Fort Frances and Thunder Bay Districts.
12-new forest fires were reported in the Region Thursday.
11-were lightning caused, while the other is under investigation.
All of the new fires were under 1-hectare in size and were
extinguished by firerangers and water bombers.
