It’s free, confidential and its available 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
2-1-1 service was launched across the Kenora District at a Press Conference in Dryden Wednesday.
Executive Director Marie Klassen says information on thousands of programs and services is available by dialing the three numbers.
Callers can find out information on just about anything including accessing health services, social services, drop-in programs for moms and babies, counseling, information on home care or questions about immigration.
What you need to know about volunteer groups, food banks, homeless shelters and homework programs for teens is another example of what is available by calling.
You can also access the service on-line at www.211ontario.ca.
Klassen says the initiative was first launched in the Thunder Bay District in 2008 and notes it will be expanded across Northern Ontario by year’s end.
