2 Dead Following Domestic Assault In Thunder Bay

In Thunder Bay, an eight year old girl is dead after an early Monday morning domestic assault involving her mother and an ex-boyfriend.
Police Spokesperson Chris Adams says when they arrived on the scene the girl was badly hurt with a critical injury.
The suspect, a 38 year old man was involved in a stand off on Wharton Road.
Adams says the standoff ended around 11:30 a.m. the suspect was transported to hospital after being taken into custody.
He adds the suspect appeared to have injuries that were sustained prior to his arrest.
Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is stepping in to look into the 38 year old’s death.
