2008 Fire Season Starts April 1st #2

The Ministry of Natural Resources has started training

its summer staff for the 2008 fire season.

The season will officially start April 1st, and

Information Officer Debbie McLean says they’re ready to go.

McLean says the upcoming season could be off to a slow

start because of the snow coverage in the area.

The start of fire season means day burning is no longer

permitted.

McLean notes residents can burn brush 2 hours before

sunrise and 2 hours after sunset.
