The 44th annual Dryden Eagles Athletic Awards Banquet had a family flavour to it.
The ceremony was held last night at Dryden High School and Nick Skillen walked away with three awards.
One of the awards was Athlete of the Year, a trophy his father had previously won.
Skillen says he wanted to win the award for his father and he’s proud of his achievements this year.
Alana Benson won four awards in her final year at DHS and she calls the night “bitter sweet”.
Benson stressed she’s going to miss Eagles athletics but notes she walks away with plenty of great memories.
Abby Bartlett and Kirk Markowski were named Sportsmen of the Year while Karissa Kilby and Zack Lugli won Rookie of the Year.
