Winnipeg Man Drowns In West Hawk Lake

Tragedy on West Hawk Lake in Manitoba.

A 52 year old man from Winnipeg drowned after diving from a pontoon boat Saturday evening.

The RCMP in Falcon Lake say two men in their early 50’s jumped into the lake and immediately began have difficulty in the water.

Life jackets were thrown to both men, but only one person was able to get to one.

Police, Manitoba Conservation and the local fire department searched the water but were unable to locate the victim.

Around 4:30 Sunday morning the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team found the body of the missing swimmer.

The RCMP say they continue to investigate the fatality.
