Ice Dogs Still Looking For Billet Families

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs are still in need of billet families for the upcoming Superior International Junior Hockey League season.

Coordinator Shawna Sveinson says the campaign is fast approaching.

Training Camp starts September 3 at the Memorial Arena.

“If we don’t have enough homes to house players then we can’t have a full roster. So it’s really important and we are looking for another four or five beds. So, if you are willing to open up your home we would really appreciate that.”

Sveinson adds they are looking for, “Families or people who are in a position to open up their home and treat a player who is away from their parents. Kind of like your own child. We just are looking for a home away from their home.”

Sveinson stresses you form amazing and life-long relationships with the players you bring in.

She talks about her families personal experience with billeting:

Sveinson notes it also develops more personal connections when you go to the game as you follow one of your own.

You get a season pass per player as well as $400 a month to help off-set costs including groceries.
