Health Unit Offering Students Routine Tetanus Shots

Catching up on routine vaccinations.

That’s the hope of the Northwestern Health Unit with large scale COVID-19 vaccine clinics starting to slow down.

“We will be shifting some of our focus to smaller clinics and more targeted outreach,” explains Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kit Young Hoon. “This week in Dryden and Kenora, we will be using some of our spots in clinics for routine vaccine catch up.”

Dr. Young Hoon continues, “High School students will be able to get their tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) booster shot. Information has been shared with schools and is also posted on the walk in clinic schedule on our website.”

Students in grades 9-12 can attend without an appointment and can check if they are due for a booster here

Dryden Clinics are on at the Best Western 4 to 6pm Wednesday February 2 and Thursday February 3.

Clinics are on at the same time both days in Kenora at Seven Generations Education.

Eligible students can also get their COVID-19 vaccine at the same time.
