New customs facilities are coming to the border at International Falls.
The U.S. General Services Administration is setting aside about $250 million to replace the existing facility, now over 30 years old.

The site was previously identified about a decade ago when studies were undertaken to look at replacing the U.S. point of entry.
A lack of funding at the time put the project on hold.
The GSA says the new facilities should be ready for use in 2031.
It says the project will address security and safety concerns and provide state-of-the-art technologies.
There is also a rerouting of traffic into and out of Canada.
The International Falls border crossing is Minnesota’s busiest in the state.
