Ontario Looking At Masking Requirement

The need to wear a mask could be coming to an end.

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore says it’s one of the public health measures that will be reviewed in the coming weeks,

“Masking requirements will remain in place for the time being, but we are reviewing these measures and hope to provide an update in the coming weeks,” says Dr. Moore.

Dr. Moore says if the need to wear masks is lifted, some may continue to choose to wear them and we should respect that choice.

“Masking does remain an important tool in our toolbox, and even when it’s no longer required in public settings it will continue to be an effective tool for reducing transmission and protecting those recovering from illness.”

Dr. Moore says isolation requirements when you are sick are also to be reviewed in the near future.
