The Northwestern Health Unit says COVID-19 numbers are going down, but our test positivity rate isn’t.
The seven-date rate is at 10.3%, up slightly from 9.7% last week.
However, the number of active high risk cases has gone down dramatically.
There are 153 this week, compared to 329 last week.
Local health officials note the numbers are lower than the ‘real’ number due to the fact many people are not eligible for PCR testing and instead test positive on Rapid Antigen tests at home and are not counted in the total.
Here is the case breakdown (Health Hub):
-Sioux Lookout (on-reserve): 119
-Kenora: 13
-Sioux Lookout (off-reserve): 10
-Red Lake: 4
-Dryden: 3
-Fort Frances: 2
-Emo: 1
-Rainy River: 1
