It’s officially summer.
The summer solstice took place this morning at 4:14.
It also marks the longest day of the year.
We actually set one record over the past couple of days.
Monday, the thermometer in Dryden hit 34.8 degrees, breaking the old record of 28.1 set back in 2018.
Meantime, last nights thunderstorm and high winds knocked down trees and branches in the area, resulting in some power outages in rural areas.
Hydro One hopes to have power restored this morning. (Tuesday)
About 109 customers in Frenchman’s Head are also in the dark and crews hope to have power restored by 11 o’clock.
Sioux Lookout Hydro is also reporting multiple outages in the community.
A municipal-wide outage yesterday due to equipment failure has been fixed.
