The Mayor of Red Lake vows to continue the fight for government funding to build a new arena and events centre.
Previous attempts have for the most part been unsuccessful.
Fred Mota says they are ready to move ahead with the project.
“We do we have a Class A engineer design fully completed for a new arena. The land is secure and we’re waiting on dollars so we can move forward with development.”
Mota says the current facility in Cochenour is extremely old and needs a lot of work to rehabilitate it and the money would be better spent on building a new facility.
