New Era For Communities In Kenora District

New municipal councils have now been installed representing a changing of the guard across the region.

The President of the Kenora District Municipal Association believes it will be a smooth transition in government lobbying with new Councils elected.

Kevin Kahoot says there is an opportunity, now more than ever, to take a more regional approach when it comes to lobbying the provincial and federal governments on their own behalf.

“There’s still some good experience in Northwestern Ontario. Kenora has got a Councillor that moved into their Mayor’s seat. So I think that’s going to help us. Some new blood. Some new ideas.”

The Mayor of Ear Falls sees some new energy for the district moving forward.
