Lakehead University’s Outpost bar is the first in Canada to offer pregnancy tests in their bathroom dispensers.
Student Union Vice President Charmaine Romaniuk says they hope it will help prevent Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
She says even if one person uses it, and it prevents one child from having FASD, then they have done their job.
Romaniuk says by charging only $3 for them, it beats the $10-$20 you would pay at a pharmacy.
The initiative starts today and they hope to have more local bars get on board and offer pregnancy tests.
