6 Members of Fort Frances Muskies Linked to Video

6 Fort Frances High School students, who are also key members of the
Muskie Girls Hockey team have been linked to a racist video which surfaced
on the internet last week.
The video, shown on Facebook and Youtube depicts the female non-native
students dancing to the sounds of a Pow-Wow while holding bottles of liquor.
Jack McMaster is the Director of Education for the Rainy-River School
Board and he says it’s a dark moment for education and is totally unacceptable.
McMaster says he has spent the past couple of days meeting with First Nation leaders, Trustees and teachers to move forward and ease aboriginal concerns.
Several First Nation Bands pulled their students from Fort Frances High
due to concerns about violence and high tensions, however all students are
reportedly back in class.
McMaster wouldn’t comment on disciplinary action but the 6-girls have
reportedly been removed from the hockey team.
