Despite the fact broadband infrastructure is now in place in most of the region, some work still has to be done, as the 807 Northwest Network plans to expand.
Communities such as Red Lake and Ear Falls are still without broadband technology.
Project Manager Jim Green says the current vendors could deliver the expansion or possibly another company.
However, Green is quick to point out that significant funding from both levels of Government would be needed to branch out.
