A Hike In Pension Payouts From Resolute Forest

A bit of a boost for employees with Resolute Forest Products
The company is increasing the pension plan contribution to its workers.
The Paperworkers union says the yearly contribution is going up to $80-million a year from $50-million.
While its a significant move, union spokesperson Stephen Boon says that the pension plans are still hovering at unacceptable levels.
Within the past year, Resolute has tried to reduce retiree benefits in Fort Frances, Thunder Bay and in Eastern Canada as a way to deal with the pension plans dipping below 70% solvency.
