A regional cancer care official says a new provincial report card indicates we receive excellent care here at home for most common types of cancer.
Dr. Mark Henderson says that should be reassuring to everyone who gets treated here or knows someone who does.
Henderson says they also have an excellent referral system.
Among other things, the report card gives high marks for how lung cancer is treated and diagnosed.
Henderson says the stats still show we smoke too much, are overweight and drink more alcohol than we should.
