Day One Of Dryden Blood Donor Clinic

“Be the Charge”.

That’s the theme of the two day Canadian Blood Services Donor Clinic which starts Monday at Dryden High School.

Event Coordinator Mike Choi says the need for blood is constant and is badly needed for regular transfusions.

Choi says a cancer patient may require up to five units of blood a week.

He adds folks with other blood disorders may need up to eight to ten units a week.

Choi is hoping local residents can be the charge and help them collect 240-units of blood.

The last clinic in January brought in 190 units of blood.

Monday’s clinic runs from 4 until 8 o’clock.
