A Powerful Kick Start For Northern Ontario

A Northwest Kick Start Plan is proposing cleaner and cheaper energy for Northern Ontario.
At the Ontario Waterpower Conference, a proposal was made to provide a grid connection to a number of First Nations Communities who use diesel generation and all the way to the Ring of Fire.
President and CEO of Imperium Energy Larry Doran says the move would also allow them to develop hydroelectric generators.
He says up till now they weren’t worth building because there was no way to get the power out, but this will allow hundreds of megawatts of new hydro electric power to be generated in the North.
The proposal would also facilitate the cost-effective development of natural resources in the area, such as Goldcorp Musselwhite.
