Will Adam Leon be home for Christmas?
The ex-Confederation College student is charged with theft following an incident where a Cessna was taken from the college flight school and flown into the United States. His lawyer Neil McCartney says that since Leon has already spent time in the US, another sentence in Canada would be like double jeopardy.
He says in Canadian Law, someone who steals something usually isn’t allowed to be convicted of theft and possession of stolen property.
A judge will decided on the matter December 5th.
