Dryden City Manager Joe van Koeverden says Council needs to pull together right now.
Van Koeverden says they need a united front in these tough times.
He says the primary task of council is getting the fiscal balance back in the city budget and to give proper direction to staff on where to find savings.
Van Koeverden says council is at times off track and focusing on smaller issues instead of the fiscal issues.
He notes council needs to be more involved.
He adds communication is also poor to the public, management and the media.
Van Koeverden says its been difficult at times.
He says we need to realize we are on the same team and the task at hand is steering the community in the right direction.
Van Koeverden admits tough decisions will have to be made and stresses this is the year it has to get started.
He is already pointing to the high cost of operating the arena, airport and museum and says Council should look into a different way of running the three.
Van Koeverden was very open during a presentation to business reps at a Chamber of Commerce meeting last night.
