A Storm We Won’t Soon Forget

Last week is in the Sunset Country rear view mirror but it was a storm many of us won’t soon forget.

A lot of snow in a short period of time, very high winds and some freezing rain which all led to highway closures in the region, power outages, cancelled or postponed events and countless closures.

Throughout it all, the storm not only brought out the eventual beauty of Mother Nature – as evidenced here with Claudine Savage’s unique wind driven icicles which formed almost sideways – but also the kindness of Sunset Country residents who helped each other when we could. Giving rides to snowed-in neighbors, helping to clear driveways and not asking for anything in return. Just doing it because….it needed to be done. It’s what we do.

To each and everyone of you who helped someone else…..Thank you! Keep doing what we do in Sunset Country. It’s what makes us great and a great place to live!
