Abitibi Consolidated and Bowater have joined forces to
form a larger body with annual revenues of 9.3 billion
dollars Canadian.
The new company will be called Abitibi-Bowater and will
have their headquarters and executive office in Montreal,
with a U.S. regional manufacturing and sales office in
Greenville.
Abitibi President and C.E.O. John Weaver says the merger
will provide 250 million dollars in saving synergies.
