Abitibi Consolidated is working with a Quebec financial
institute to create a joint venture for the company’s
ontario hydroelectric generation facilities.
The company will retain a 75% interest in the venture
called ACH limited partnership.
President and C.E.O. John Weaver says the merger with
Bowater will not effect last week’s hydro announcement.

expected to be approved by the US and Canadian Governments
by the 3rd Quarter in 2007.
