The Northern Ontario School of Medicine continues to
work towards involving all community stakeholders.
The school’s Aboriginal Reference Group met for the
first time this year, and discussed the medical school
utilizing the knowledge of community elders.
The first nation organization also discussed
establishing a student association, and the newly created
Elders Handbook for students, and faculty.
The Aboriginal Reference Group will meet again in the
early spring.
