The public school board is embracing a new initiative
aimed at improving cultural sensitivity in area high
schools.
Keewatin Patricia District School Board Trustees heard
from Aboriginal Advisor LaVerna Greene who spoke about the
IPonder and Peer Factor programs.
Greene says they hope to inform students about the
aboriginal culture, and also foster better relationships
between native and non native students.
The initiative focuses on the aboriginal Grandfather
teachings of Respect, Humility, Truth, Wisdom, Bravery,
Honesty and Love.
